West Ridge, French and Stream Trails Loop
From Skyline Gate, the loop first follows West Ridge Trail along the higher western edge of Reinhardt Redwood Regional Park, with evergreen woodland, chaparral openings, and views over the forested Redwood Creek basin.
It then turns onto French Trail, crossing the quieter interior slopes past side-trail junctions such as Star Flower and Redwood Peak, where coast-redwood groves, bay laurel, ferns, and shaded ravines give the route a more secluded character.
The final section follows Stream Trail beside Redwood Creek, returning through a cool canyon corridor of riparian vegetation, footbridges, and tall redwoods back toward the Skyline Gate area.
